The history of Bird
Forestry plays an important role in the success of
the firm. In 1979 Mike Bird (CEO) began Bird
Forestry Services, Inc., (BFS) as a one-man consulting
forestry business. In 1994 he and Terry Anderson
(President), formed Advanced Ecology, Inc. (AEI), a
company of professionals with experience in traditional
forest and wildlife management, and with training and
knowledge in the ever-expanding field of environmental
regulations.
Sharing this vision, Mark Brian (Senior-Vice President)
merged his consulting forestry business with BFS in
1996. Over the years, BFS and AEI expanded in
terms of services and staff, culminating with BFS formally
merging with AEI to form Advanced Ecology, Ltd. (AEL)
in 2006.
AEL is a diverse firm that employs over ten degreed
foresters and wildlife biologists that are capable
of dealing with a wide range of natural resource goals. This
team of natural resource professionals has a thorough
knowledge of environmental investigation balanced with
a concept of achieving practical project goals and
regulatory compliance. The company uses a multi–disciplinary,
yet common sense approach to search for affordable
and effective solutions to resource management challenges.
