Forest Product Sales
An integral part of BF’s business as a forest resource
management firm is to provide our clients with the
tools and capabilities to maximize the revenue potential
of their forest products. Adequate planning and
proper marketing are vital factors to consider when
planning the sale of a property’s valuable forest resources.
BF has been conducting forest product sales on behalf
our clients for approximately 30 years. It is
this expertise that allows BF to provide a service
that will best benefit our clients financially and
provide the best management of long term forest resource
goals.
BF provides a turn key service handling all aspects
of the forest product sale, always keeping the landowner
goals at the front of the decision making process. Such
services include a harvesting plan, where a complete
inventory of the products to be sold is conducted and
a report displaying the product breakdown prepared.
We make a point to keep up with the latest in forestry
practices such as streamside management zones and state
Best Management Practices, and to incorporate them
into every action taken on our clients' lands. Sensitive
areas such as hardwood corridors along creeks are routinely
delineated to insure the best possible job.
Using the inventory data, BF assists the landowner
in advertising and marketing the products for sale
to a substantial list of reputable buyers, in order
to insure income from the sale is maximized and the
quality of the harvesting operations meets the management
goals of the client.
BF assists the landowner with the preparation of all
legal documents and contracts to finalize the sale
process. BF will also provide recommendations
as to particular conditions or restrictions that may
be of value to a particular property when planning
the sale.
To assure a quality harvesting operation is conducted,
BF provides thorough supervision of all harvesting
activities. BF works closely with harvesting
contractors and buyers throughout the entire process
so there are less hassles for the client.
BF often provides these services based on a commission
rate that could range from 10%-15% of the total income
received from the forest product sale. Other
arrangements can also be made depending on scope of
work and particular goals of the property owner.
