Jeff Slaga, Forester / GIS Specialist

Jeff joined the Advanced Ecology, Ltd. team in 2005 after spending 8 years as a professional Forester with International Paper Company. He has extensive experience in timber management, site preparation, reforestation, and vegetation control in the Gulf Coastal Plains ecoregion. As a forester for approximately 120,000 acres, he developed management plans that provided for sustainable use of timber and other natural resources. Jeff enforced Best Management Practices on company lands and supervised the delivery of fiber and wood resources throughout east Texas. He worked closely with Texas parks and Wildlife (TPWD) in the management of approximately 30,000 acres of bottomland hardwood forest in the Neches River floodplain of Texas.

Jeff has experience managing GIS databases for both spatial and tabular data. He has extensive experience in producing specialty maps for landscape scale restoration projects.

As a U.S. Marine, Major Slaga deployed to Somalia in support of Operation Restore Hope and Operation Iraqi Freedom II.
