Courtney Greer, Ecologist
Courtney Greer began working for Advanced Ecology, Ltd. in May 2006. Courtney received her Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University in Rangeland Ecology and Management with an emphasis in livestock management in 2002. Courtney earned her Master of Science degree from Texas A&M in Rangeland Ecology and Management in 2005 with a focus in hydrology.

Courtney’s research was conducted in the Central Texas region. She conducted several studies on the short term and long term effects of Ashe juniper removal in Coryell County. Courtney’s research focused on the hydrologic effects associated with cedar removal. Her research was part of a larger project, The Leon River Restoration Project, that included five other graduate students from Texas A&M researching the range, wildlife, economic and water quality aspects of juniper removal.

Courtney was a member of the Texas A&M Plant Identification team, competing in state and national contests from 2000-2003. While Courtney was a member of the plant identification team, the team placed 1st at Houston from 2000-2003, 1st at state from 2000-2002, and 4th and 6th at nationals 2002-2003. Courtney gained an extensive knowledge of plants on a state as well as a national level during her years on the team.

After completing her masters, Courtney went to work for Georgia–Pacific as a forester. At GP, Courtney worked in the procurement, land management and harvesting departments, learning valuable skills in the forestry industry.

Courtney and her husband Collin live in Center, Texas where they raise registered Charolais cattle. They enjoy spending time in the outdoors either hunting, fishing or walking through the woods on their family land in Martinsville and Shelbyville, Texas.
